Kid’s Portrait Photography, Sheffield – Session 4 with Cali

kids portrait photography on a swing

What do you do when it’s a bit miserable, on Saturday morning and you’ve got a kids portrait session booked in? Grab your waterproofs and head to the park for some puddle splashing fun.

Growing Up

I’m now over half way through photographing little Cali’s journey. I can’t believe how quick she’s growing. When I look back at my first portrait session with her, she wasn’t too steady on her feet. Now she’s running around, jumping and splashing in puddles.

Splashing in Puddles

The day was a bit miserable, it had rained the night before so plenty of puddles around, which are perfect for kids. When I arrived Cali was already togged up in wellies and a waterproof onsie, although that didn’t stop her from worrying about getting wet. A short walk from their house and we were at the park. Not too keen on the slide as the water sent her flying down it at high speed, we kept to the puddles and digger.

Photographing the Fun

The best part about kids photography when they’re at the park are the facial expressions they pull while they’re doing things they love. Whether that’s splashing in puddles or being pushed sky high in the swing. Of course all that fun can’t last forever and eventually if you’re a 3 year old, you’ll break down and have a little paddy. Nothing a tickle and cuddle won’t fix though.
