Holmfirth Vineyard Wedding – Marcia & Lee

Holmfirth Vineyard wedding photography

Sun, wine, Yorkshire hills and a bit of Texas & Cuba thrown in for good measure. Marcia & Lee’s Holmfirth Vineyard Wedding was a dream to photograph.

Holmfirth Vineyard Wedding Fayre

I first met Marcia and Lee at the Holmfirth Vineyard Wedding fayre, one of the four couples that braved the snow that day. It was great to hear that they had also booked Woo B Woo flowers and White Rose Cake Design, both of who I absolutely love.

Local Wedding

I love photographing local weddings, mainly because I’m home and in bed in no time 😊. Marcia & Lee chose to get married at Skelmanthorpe Church, the same place Lee’s three sisters had married at before and just in the next village to me. The vicar, who I particularly loved not only looks like Rick Wakeman, but also allowed me to photograph where ever I wanted during the ceremony.

Drinks Reception at Holmfirth Vineyard

A short trip over to Holmfirth Vineyard for drinks reception and the rest of the wedding day. The weather was absolutely stunning, not a cloud in site. Of course, this also meant no shade and with two cameras strapped to you, it makes for hot work. You couldn’t ask for a better setting while sipping on champagne after your wedding, looking over the Yorkshire hills in the bright sun.

Relaxed Wedding Photography

A quick walk down through the vines for some couple time gave Marcia and Lee some alone time away from the hustle and bustle of all their wedding guests. It was really nice just for them to sit and chill on the benches and look across the valley while I snapped away.
Another great thing about having your wedding at Holmfirth Vineyard is the stunning sunset. The Vineyard, part of the Sheveling Wine Estate looks over the valley just as the sunsets over the vines. So of course I grabbed Marcia and Lee for some quick relaxed portraits while the sunset behind them.

A perfect day and I didn’t even get sun burnt. Can’t wait to come back to Holmfirth Vineyard for another wedding.
