Sun, an island wedding ceremony and a sparkler exit. What more could I want from photographing a wedding at Hackness Grange.

I don’t photograph many Monday weddings, in fact, I think this was my first, but Sammie and Harvey had chosen this date as it was the anniversary of their interviews for North Yorkshire Police.
A funny story of how they first met too as on their first ‘blue light run’ in the back of the van, the driver slammed on their brakes and Sammie found herself face down in between Harvey’s legs!
The beauty of Hackness Grange for the bride and groom too was that it was only a 15-minute drive away from them. Of course, Sammie stayed over the night before and got ready in the gorgeous bridal suite with floor-to-ceiling windows making the light absolutely gorgeous. You know how us wedding photographers love our light. Beauty by Emily Mae and Hair by Zoe were amazing in the morning too, doing their thing and making the bridal party look even more amazing.

The wedding ceremony at Hackness Grange is gorgeous. Situated on a little island, flooded with fairy lights and surrounded by trees and wildlife, it’s the perfect setting to say I Do. Nothing short of enchanting. Nestled amidst the lush greenery of North Yorkshire, near Scarborough, With 17 acres of beautiful land, Hackness Grange is the perfect place to get married in the North of England.
The outdoor ceremony was a dream for Sammie and Harvey. Surrounded by trees and wildlife, they exchanged heartfelt vows under a canopy of fairy lights and blue skies. Until someone’s car alarm went off and interrupted the whole ceremony. Luckily surrounded by police, no one was attempting to steal a car.
As a wedding photographer, I couldn’t have asked for a more stunning backdrop for their ceremony. Gee Events made Hackness Grange look stunning as well.

With the sun raging in the sky, I sweated through the family photos and took the bride and groom off for some relaxed wedding portraits around Hackness Grange. My plan is always to make this time as relaxed and natural as possible, usually leaving the bride and groom to sit or cuddle for a few minutes and enjoy some time together while I quietly photograph them. Creating true moments between them.

With their not being a cloud in the sky, the evening sunset light was to die for and Sammie was absolutely loving having more wedding photos on the grounds of Hackness Grange. The sunset at Hackness Grange is stunning. And with the dying light, we managed to get a gorgeous sparkler exit as well. I always prefer to do sparklers during dusk time as it just looks a lot more nicer than in the dark.
